Connecticut’s Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) has arranged Connecticut into five emergency response regions.  Responses within this framework are handled accordingly.  K9FR is headquartered in Region 2.

K9FR personnel are screened and trained in crisis response standards consistent with Connecticut’s Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and Children and Families (DCF) guidelines as established and specified for DMHAS/DCF Disaster Response Teams within the Disaster Behavioral Health Response Network (DBHRN).
